Helpdesk Technician

Department: 8022 - Information Systems
Location: San Antonio, TX
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30AM-5:30PM

PURPOSE 

The Helpdesk Technician is responsible for answering helpdesk calls, troubleshooting computers, applications, network and printer issues, assign helpdesk tickets for further response, assist with walk-ins and scheduled appointments, laptop and cell phone assignments.

TASKS 

  1. Answer helpdesk calls, monitor help desk queue, troubleshoot computer, network and printer issues; process and maintain access requests; assist with access to network resources.
  2. Respond to requests for assistance based on assigned tickets.
  3. Provide assistance with walk-ins.
  4. Issue and provide training for laptops and cell phones.
  5. Assist in preparation of equipment and images.
  6. Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Minimum two (2) years’ experience in desktop and helpdesk support on Windows platform
  3. Extensive application support experience with MS Office Suite and knowledge of networking protocol including TCP/IP
  4. Exceptional customer service orientation
  5. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  6. Must maintain required credentials and mandatory training requirements to ensure compliance with all State regulations and CHCS policies
  7. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, be able to travel as needed, and be able to meet on a consistent basis the driving record requirements of the Company’s auto insurance carrier if you drive your vehicle during company business 
  8. Must be able to meet the physical requirements to complete SAMA and CPR training including lifting up to 12 lbs. and supporting up to 55 lbs.; bending, stooping and getting on and off the floor without assistance.

PREFERRED 

       1. Microsoft Certification: MCP, MCSA, MS Office Suite, A+ and Net+

       2. Experience in a health care environment, preferably a community MHMR setting
