Inventory Control Specialist

Department: 8022 - Information Systems
Location: San Antonio, TX
Work Schedule: Monda-Friday 8:30a – 5:30p

PURPOSE

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining and tracking inventory of all assets for IT by location, manages coordination of shipping and receiving of new IT equipment and equipment in need of repair, and works with vendors to oversee delivery schedules.

 

TASKS

  1. Tracks all assests for IT by location, unit #, employee id, serial/model numbers and signatures.
  2. Conducts Weekly Cycle counts of inventory matierials based upon software-monitored listings.
  3. Conducts complete physical inventory count of all sites quarterly.
  4. Organizes and maintains warehouse and inventory areas for efficient material storage and handlinig; maintains labeling system on each stock item.
  5. Manually stocks inventory with stock items received or returned.
  6. Recieves delivered supplies, materials and equipment.
  7. Confirms that delivered goods match purchase order specifications of quantity, condition, model number etc.
  8. Completes all necessary paperwork for receiving images, encrypts, and updates all incoming computer equipment as well as outgoing or equipment in need of repair.
  9. Enters recurring charges, quotes and monthly charges for various vendors into Munis financial software for approval.
  10. Utilizes ASAP inventory software to properly acount for issues, returns, receipts of new equipment and associated back orders.
  11. Inputs essential data on all equipment handled.
  12. Issues supplies, material, and equipment to field technicians.
  13. Manually pre-picks stock items from inventory which are specified in work order documents, in advacne of issuance to field techs.
  14. Completes all necessary paperwork.
  15. Performs related duties as required and models CHCS IT customer service initatives.
  16. Other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Five (5) years’ experience in a computer-aided warehousing operation, or any equivalent combination of education and experience to include one (5) years’ experience in IT operations, PC support, and helpdesk.
  3. Working knowledge of inventory control practices; working knowledge of tools, supplies, equipment used in the imaging/inventory process.
  4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and vendors; ability to organize items by broad and specific classifications.
  5. Must maintain required credentials and mandatory training requirements to ensure compliance with all State regulations and CHCS policies.
  6. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, be able to travel as needed, and be able to meet on a consistent basis the driving record requirements of the Company’s auto insurance carrier if you drive your vehicle during company business.
  7. Must be able to meet the physical requirements to complete SAMA and CPR training including lifting up to 12 lbs. and supporting up to 55 lbs.; bending, stooping and getting on and off the floor without assistance.

 

PREFERRED

  1. Bachelor degree in computer science/information systems and four (4) years’ of experience in IT with emphasis in inventory control OR combination of education and experience.
