Senior Clinical Practitioner

Department: 2002 - CBH Outpatient Services
Location: San Antonio, TX
Work Schedule: M-F: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.


The Senior Clinical Practitioner (SCP) will assist the Clinic Administrator with administrative duties; can supervise the Clinical Practitioners (CPIs & CPIIs only) and program implementation, management of CP caseloads, and overseeing daily operations of the units or programs. The SCP will also provide direct services for consumers, may maintain a small caseload and complete associated documentation for the consumer and program requirements. The SCP will also assist the Clinic Administrator or Team Leader with process/performance improvement, monitoring productivity and any granular level analysis of data related to contract requirements and direct service/productivity/contract/grant requirements.

  1. Assist the Clinic Administrator (and/or Team Leader) with administrative duties; (can) supervise the Clinical Practitioners (CPIs and CPIIs only) and  program implementation, management of CP case loads and overseeing daily operations of the units or programs.
  2. Provide direct services for consumers, may maintain a small caseload and completes all associated documentation for the consumer and program requirements.
  3. Assist the  Clinic Administrator (and/or Team Leader) with process/performance improvement, monitoring productivity and any granular level analysis of data related to contract requirements and direct service/productivity.
  4. Link and refer new and existing consumers to appropriate services (internal/external) and assists with monitoring of transfers and discharges of consumers to ensure appropriate transition or completion.
  5. Assist Administrator and Team Leader with overall financial goals and strategic planning. Is resulted oriented to ensure metrics and deliverables yield overall outcomes for unit/program.
  6. Other duties as assigned


  1. Bachelor's degree in a Behavioral Science (Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, etc...)
  2. Credentialed as a QMHP or can achieve credentialing once hired (required).  
  3. Experience  reading and preparing reports, to include fundamental understanding of clinical notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
  4. Two (2) yearís of experience in providing treatment services for mental health or equivalent population.
  5. Six (6) month's experience in management or supervision of treatment services or treatment providers for population served or equivalent experience accepted by hiring manager.
  6. Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office software and system databases.
  7. Comfort level with basic data tracking and analysis functions to include using reports to monitor/track productivity, services, revenue and as a mechanism to affect positive change in day to day operations to meet required metrics/goals.
  8. Must maintain required credentials and mandatory training requirements to ensure compliance with all State regulations and  CHCS policies
  9.  Must maintain a valid driverís license and automobile insurance coverage, be able to travel as needed, and be able to meet on a consistent basis the driving record requirements of the Companyís auto insurance carrier if you drive your vehicle during company business 
  10. Must be able to meet the physical requirements to complete SAMA and CPR training including lifting up to 12 lbs. and      supporting up to 55 lbs.; bending, stooping and getting on and off the floor without assistance. 
  11. Must have  adequate mobility that requires frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching (vertical and horizontal), using fingers, hands, feet, legs and torso in various care. The employee must be able to regularly      lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to occasionally transfer a consumer.



  1. Masterís degree in a Behavioral Science with two years of experience in community social services, non-profit or mental health, public policy or equivalent.
  2. Licensed in Texas as an LPC-Intern, NCC, LMSW or LCDC-Intern in good standing.
  3. Bilingual (Spanish/English)
