Administrative Assistant II

Department: 4010 - Early Childhood Intervention (ECI)
Location: San Antonio, TX
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM


The Administrative Assistant II will provide administrative and secretarial support, to include transcription to create final form documents for the assigned program(s.)


  1. Performs routine office duties including filing, faxing, typing, copying, maintaining records, answering telephone, greeting customers, assist manager with scheduling and administration
  2. Provides administrative and secretarial support for the unit to ensure reports, appointments, and other pertinent information is filtered appropriately
  3. Types dictated or handwritten documents into final form, proofreading and editing work
  4. Prepares reports and presentations as directed
  5. Maintain and reconcile Petty Cash for assigned units/orgs, and responsible for purchasing/invoice processing for assigned units/orgs
  6. Other duties as assigned


  1. HS Diploma or GED
  2. Two to three (2 – 3) years' administrative assistant or secretarial experience, preferably in a medical services environment
  3. Two (2) years' College level course work (60 semester hours). Applicable administrative experience may be substituted for college on a year for year basis, in conjunction with meeting experience requirement
  4. Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications and system databases  
  5. Experience with shorthand or speed writing
  6. Must maintain required credentials and mandatory training requirements to ensure compliance with all State regulations and CHCS policies
  7. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, be able to travel as needed, and be able to meet on a consistent basis the driving record requirements of the Company’s auto insurance carrier if you drive your vehicle during company business 
  8. Must be able to meet the physical requirements to complete SAMA and CPR training including lifting up to 12 lbs. and supporting up to 55 lbs.; bending, stooping and getting on and off the floor without assistance.
  9. Must have adequate mobility that requires frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching (vertical and horizontal), using fingers, hands, feet, legs and torso in various care. The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must be able to occasionally transfer a consumer.


       1. Two (2) years' college level course work (60 semester hours)           

       2. Five (5) years' senior administrative experience and/or office management experience

3 = Primarily Physical Work
