Network Administrator II

Department: 8022 - Information Systems
Location: San Antonio, TX
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30AM-5:30PM

PURPOSE 

The Network Administrator II is responsible for assisting with design, implementation and maintenance of the MS Server Active Directory based network, software licensing inventory, equipment warranty status, equipment inventory, telephone/voice/fax systems and lines to include correct billing, and administering user requests and privileges, backup procedures, process standards, server repair, installations as assigned, and training and assistance for end users as assigned.

TASKS 

  1. Assist with the design, implementation, documentation and maintenance of a 850+ user Microsoft Server 2003 Active Directory based network to include Microsoft Exchange 2003, Microsoft SQL Server and Terminal Server
  2. Administering user requests and privileges, back-up procedures and conversions, user and system operating parameters; user accounts, manage and maintain the Track-IT System
  3. Train and assist end users as necessary and assigned
  4. Maintain and manage all telephone/voicemail systems / telephone/fax lines. Working with AT&T on MAC requests. Ensure correct billing from AT&T; terminating lines no longer in use
  5. Create and maintain software licensing and equipment inventory and warranty status of all equipment; perform purchasing duties for all technology related hardware and software
  6. Serves as back-up for IT Manager
  7. Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

  1. MCSE Certification and A+ and Net+ Certification
  2. Two (2) years’ experience working with network switches, routers, LAN, WAN topologies
  3. Experience with network equipment procurement as well as staging equipment, such as Microsoft Windows Servers
  4. Two (2) years’ experience installing and maintaining Windows Server 2003 and later operating system software and with Help Desk functions directing users           
  5. Must maintain required credentials and mandatory training requirements to ensure compliance with all State regulations and CHCS policies
  6. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, be able to travel as needed, and be able to meet on a consistent basis the driving record requirements of the Company’s auto insurance carrier if you drive your vehicle during company business 
  7. Must be able to meet the physical requirements to complete SAMA and CPR training including lifting up to 12 lbs. and supporting up to 55 lbs.; bending, stooping and getting on and off the floor without assistance.

PREFERRED 


1. Two (2) year degree in computer related field
2. MCTS (certification) Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration
3. MCTS (certification) Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Configuration
4. MCTS (certification) SharePoint 2010 Configuration
5. Experience migrating to and/or maintaining Active Directory
